America Is Building Steel Again

A planned $15 billion mill in Iowa and a new Minnesota mine would rebuild a domestic steel supply chain from ore to finished metal. The project promises 1,750 permanent jobs and up to 6,000 construction jobs while reducing America’s dependence on foreign steel for factories, infrastructure and defense.

Virginia Abortion Amendment Is a Major Concern

Virginia voters are being asked to add a constitutional right to ‘reproductive freedom’ while the ballot language omits provisions that could weaken parental-notice laws and severely limit restrictions on third-trimester abortions. The amendment also raises unresolved questions about conscience protections and coerced abortions. Once added to the state constitution, these disputes would be left to courts rather than lawmakers.

American Citizenship Is for Sale

A Chinese birth-tourism operator learned that pregnant clients arriving through Hawaii faced less scrutiny than those landing in California, then sold packages designed to secure U.S. citizenship for their children. Federal rules prohibit tourist visas obtained for that purpose, yet weak enforcement and jurisdictional gaps have allowed brokers to turn American citizenship into a commercial service.

Supporters see overdue accountability for weak degrees; critics worry an earnings test will squeeze lower-paid fields such as teaching and social work.

The Lost Virtues of Manhood

American men do not need another corporate-approved rebrand. They need the older virtues that taught them to master themselves, protect the vulnerable, keep their word and carry responsibility without demanding applause. A culture that treats masculinity as dangerous or endlessly customizable leaves boys with no clear model of the men they should become. Courage, discipline, protection, duty and self-command once gave boys a demanding picture of adulthood. Recovering those virtues would give men a purpose larger than status or self-expression and strengthen the families and communities that depend on them.
