How Washington Uses ‘National Security’ to Defy the Constitution

‘National security’ has become Washington’s permission slip for ignoring constitutional restraints. Presidents use it to impose tariffs, expand surveillance, hide government actions and claim powers Congress never approved. The machinery is already built: watchlists, facial recognition, license-plate cameras, biometric tracking and predictive policing. It allows the government to treat Americans as potential threats before they commit a crime, and every new power claimed by one president passes intact to the next.

15,000 Fake Nursing Degrees Put Patients at Risk

Operation Nightingale exposed a quarter-billion-dollar industry selling nursing diplomas without the education behind them. Federal investigators say approximately 15,000 people bought fraudulent degrees and transcripts from brokers working with accredited Florida schools. Some went on to treat patients in hospitals, clinics and nursing homes. Years after the investigation began, licensing boards are still trying to determine how many untrained workers entered American health care and how many remain there.

The Moral Cost of IVF Is Dividing Christians

IVF is forcing Christians to confront questions many churches have avoided. Some couples try to make the procedure ethical by creating fewer embryos, refusing donor conception and promising not to discard or indefinitely freeze embryonic children. Gooley argues that these safeguards cannot settle the deepest concerns: what happens to the embryos that do not survive, whether human life is being produced as a laboratory process and whether separating conception from the marital act changes how children are understood.

Wall Street Is Killing Hollywood

Paramount’s $110 billion takeover of Warner Bros. would place two major studios, CBS, CNN, HBO Max and Paramount+ under one corporate roof. The new company would carry approximately $80 billion in debt while chasing $6 billion in annual savings. That means layoffs, fewer productions and less competition. Hollywood has been handed to financiers who view movies and television as assets to consolidate and strip. The result is becoming familiar: fewer original stories, endless sequels and higher prices for viewers.

THE BIG READ

Inflation Is Worse Than Washington Admits

The Dow keeps reaching record highs in dollars while losing value against gold. It took approximately nineteen ounces of gold to buy the index in early 2024. Today it takes about twelve. Measured in something the Federal Reserve cannot print, American stocks have lost roughly one-third of their value while brokerage statements continue reporting record balances. The Consumer Price Index cannot fully measure this erosion because it treats the dollar as a stable measuring stick. Its formulas, weights and assumptions are repeatedly adjusted by government agencies. Gold has no committee rewriting its definition. By that measure, Americans are watching a dangerous illusion unfold: the numbers in their accounts are rising while the wealth behind those numbers disappears.
