Iran is threatening “more intense and more painful” retaliation after American strikes reportedly disabled three Iranian oil tankers. Tehran claims it has already attacked several American-linked vessels, although the Pentagon denies that a U.S. Navy drone was successfully hit.

Trump prosecutes noncitizen voting Biden ignored

The Trump Justice Department has charged 50 noncitizens with voting or registration offenses in less than two years, nearly four times the 13 defendants charged during Biden’s four years. Seventeen Trump-era defendants have been convicted, most other cases remain pending and more than 24,000 potentially ineligible registrations have been referred for investigation.

The CDC has restored evidence suggesting Americans use firearms defensively between 60,000 and 2.5 million times a year, while a revised national survey puts the figure near 2.2 million.
